10/09/2003: "Military Burial"

Archived Entry:
Today a family friend, Al, was buried. He passed away from a heart attack at a really young age. Al was in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. So he was buried down past Gilroy in Gustine in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. Al, didn't have any family or a will, so the stupid city gets all the money and posessions. I'm gonna miss him this Thanksgiving, as every year for Thanksgiving and some holidays he used to come over and eat with us. Being his next of kin my parents received the flag that was on top of his casket. Now we gotta find a flag holder to display it. Al, you'll always be in our hearts and prayers. We'll think of you this Thanksgiving.
